Dalton Dean Trotter

Services for Dalton Dean Trotter, 75, of Dialville, will be at 1 p.m., Saturday, in Renfro Memorial Chapel at Boren-Conner Funeral Home, with the Rev. Don Copeland officiating, under the direction of Boren-Conner Funeral Home in Jacksonville.

Mr. Trotter died Thursday morning at a local nursing home. He was born Feb. 15, 1932, in Jacksonville. He graduated from Dialville High School and attended Lamar University.

He lived most of his life in the Jacksonville area. He was a member of Rocky Springs Baptist Church in Dialville. He was a truck driver for more than 40 years having retired after approximately 25 years with Auto Convoy.

He was also a member of the VFW Post in Jacksonville. He served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean Conflict.

He is preceded in death by two daughters, Brenda Trotter Clark and Janet Renee Trotter.

Survivors include his wife, Yvonne Trotter of Jacksonville; son, Neal Trotter of Lufkin; two brothers, Clarence Earl Trotter of Rusk; and Williams Louis Trotter of Portland, Ore.; six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers include Jimmy Bolton, Billy Joe Burnett, Wayne Bolton, Max Thomason, Leon Lloyd, Jeff Byron, Mike Smith and David Beard.

Honorary pallbearers are Auto Convoy retirees.

Visitation will be 6-8 p.m., today, at the funeral home.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to Legend Oaks Nursing Home, Sheila Phillips, Tonya Meza, Leslie Jones and all those who assisted with Mr. Trotter’s care.
