Ora Fay Tolbert

Services for Ora Fay Tolbert, 98, of Jacksonville, will be at 1 p.m., Friday, Feb. 2, 2007, at Thompson Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Buck Newsome officiating, under the direction of Thompson Funeral Home of Jacksonville.

Burial will be at Providence Cemetery.

Mrs. Tolbert died Tuesday, Jan. 30, 2007, at her residence. She was born Aug. 15, 1908, in Craft. She was a retired school teacher at JISD, Craft and Dialville with 39 years of service as a teacher. She was a member of D.A.R. and AARP and an active member of St. John’s Methodist Church in Jacksonville.

She was preceded in death by her husband, V.F. Wallace, parents; step-daughter, Amelea Slusher; brothers, Clarence Wallace, C.W. Wallace, J.A. Wallace, M.O. Wallace, A.B. Wallace and W.D. Wallace and sisters, Flora Lewis and Minnie Mae Jones.

Survivors include two step-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews and numerous great-nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers include Robert Ivy, Darrell Wallace, B.R. Wallace, B.T. Wallace, David Wallace and Matthew Wallace.

Honorary pallbearers include Jasper Lewis, M.E. Wallace and Alvie Jones.

Visitation will be 6-8 p.m., today at the funeral home.
