Joe A. Schochler
Services for Joe A. Schochler, 71, of Rusk will be at 10 a.m., Thursday, Jan.
18, 2007, at the Wallace-Thompson Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Charles
Haley officiating.
Burial will be at the Sardis-Edgefield Cemetery under the direction of
Wallace-Thompson Funeral Home in Rusk.
Mr. Schochler died Jan. 16, 2007, at a Jacksonville hospital. He was born April
16, 1935, in Rusk to the late Alton Avon and Evelyn B. Russell Schochler.
Mr. Schochler was a resident of the Sardis Community near Rusk formerly of
Houston. He served in the United States Navy as a Corpsman. Mr. Schochler was
employed by the Swisher Corporation and a member of the Sardis Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife Joyce Schochler of Rusk, three daughters and
sons-in-law, Karon and Jack O’Gorman of Rusk, Kathy and Dean Patrick of
Pasadena; Kim and Robert Vasquez of Pearland; son, Joe Jr. Schochler of
Pearland; grandchildren, John Watson Jr., Melissa Maples, Andrew Watson, Steven
Schochler, Jackie O’Gorman Jr., Bradley Hinson, Matthew Patrick, Sarah O’Gorman,
Arielle Schochler, Brandy Schochler, and Emily Vasquez; and great-grandchildren,
Eduardo Cordenas III; and Joseph Diaz.
Pallbearers will include Mark Gowin, Andrew Watson, Robert Gowin, Bradley
Hinson, Jackie O’Gorman Jr. and Matthew Patrick.
Family will receive friends from 5:30-7:30 p.m., Wednesday, Jan. 17, 2007, at
the funeral home.
