Carrie B. Cartwright Lacy
Services for Carrie B. Cartwright Lacy, 94, of Jacksonville, will be at 11 a.m.,
Thursday, Feb. 22, 2007, at Sweet Union Baptist Church with the Rev. Ulyssess
McCarvin (grandson) and the Rev. Ike Roberts officiating, under the direction of
Williams Funeral Home in Jacksonville.
Burial will be at Pleasant Plain Cemetery in Jacksonville.
Mrs. Lacy died Feb. 18, 2007. She was born Feb. 11, 1913, in Jacksonville. She
attended Jacksonville schools and she was a life-long resident of Jacksonville.
She was a member of White’s Temple COGIC in Jacksonville.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husbands, three sons, five sisters and
five brothers.
Survivors include sons, W.L. Garrett of Center; Sam Garrett of Bullard, Lee
Garrett of Bullard; A.J. Garrett of Beaumont; three daughters, Odessa Montgomery
of Frankston; Eddie Ruth Hicks of Chandler; Olivia Cameron of Chandler; 27
grandchildren, and 33 great-grandchildren and numerous
great-great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers are Darryl Hicks, Von M. Cameron, Dexter Garrett, Douglas Garrett,
Lee Edward Garrett, Jr., Tyrone Tilley, Charles Tilley; and Bobbie Earl Tilley.
Honorary pallbearers are Sam Garrett, Lee E. Garrett, Fletcher Hicks, Martin
Cameron and Marcus Davis.
Visitation will be 6-7 p.m., Feb. 21, 2007, at the funeral home.
