CHESTERENE DEATON

 

Graveside service for Chesterene Deaton, 71, of Tyler will be at 2 p.m., Wednesday, Feb. 11, at Cedar Hill Cemetery with the Rev. Don Copeland officiating. Mrs. Deaton died Feb. 8. She was born Oct. 29, 1937, in Rusk to the late Chester Calvin and Amanda Jane Middleton Vining. She was a resident of Tyler 20 years, formerly of Rusk. Mrs. Deaton was a member of Memorial Missionary Baptist Church in Rusk and received her LVN license from TJC. She was preceded in death by her sister, Mary Jane King. Survivors are her husband, Arthur Deaton of Tyler; two sons and daughters-in-law, Larry and Deanna Phifer of Slocum and Jimmy and Kathy Phifer of Platte City, Mo.; daughter and son-in-law, Shelia Deaton and Mike Mazy of Tyler; sister and brother-in-law, Ana Laura and Weldon Garrett of Tyler; 13 grandchildren; 22 greatgrandchildren, one great-greatgrandson. Pallbearers will include Gregory Deaton, Eddie Deaton, Carl Deaton, Tommy Cubine, Donnie Wilcox and Marvin Powers. Honorary pallbearer will be Ervin Deaton. Arrangements are under the direction of Wallace-Thompson Funeral Home.
