GLEN CUMMINGS

 

Memorial services for Glenn Malcolm Cummings, 87, of Rusk, formerly of Houston, will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 21, at Central Baptist Church, Jacksonville with Don Cummings and Dr. Pete Freeman officiating.

A private graveside service will be at Salem Cemetery, Rusk.

Services are under the direction of Autry Funeral Home, Jacksonville.

Mr. Cummings died Feb. 15. He was born January 2, 1922, in Dallas to Glen S. Cumings and Vera Bennett Cumings.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Madlyn Newsome Cummings in 1991; daughter, Suzanne Cummings and brother, Russell B. Cummings.

Mr. Cummings attended school at San Jacinto and Lamar High Schools in Houston, served with the Merchant Marines during World War II, was a lifelong active member of Methodist and Baptist churches, a current member of Central Baptist Church, Jacksonville, former manager of the Chamber of Commerce in Englewood, Colo., and was formerly employed with Schlumberger in Houston as a management consultant.

Survivors include his wife, Ruby Cummings of Rusk; sons and daughters-in-law, James Scott and Ellen Cummings of Richmond, Don and Bonnie Cummings of Cleveland, Ohio, Paul and Sylvia Cummings of Madrid, Spain and Timothy and Kathleen Cummings of Plano; a daughter and son-inlaw, Lucy and Wes Kilmer of Coppell; 12 grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.

Visitation with the family will be after the memorial service at the church.
