Kenneth Wayne Crayton
Services for Kenneth Wayne Crayton, 53, of the Corinth Community in Bullard will
be at 1 p.m., Saturday, Feb. 24, 2007, at Corinth Missionary Baptist Church with
the Rev. Londa Davis officiating, under the direction of Community Funeral Home
in Jacksonville.
Burial will be at the Corinth Missionary Baptist Church cemetery.
Mr. Crayton died Sunday, Feb. 18, 2007, in Bullard. He was born April 25, 1953,
in Jacksonville. He attended Bullard Elementary and High School and was a
life-time resident of Bullard and the Cherokee County area.
He was a shear operator at Goodyear Tire and Rubber Co. He was a member of
Corinth Missionary Baptist Church and a member of the Corinth Cougars.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Dennis and Odessa Hackney-Crayton.
Survivors include his wife, Sally Williams-Crayton of Bullard; son, Andre’
Crayton of Tyler; Ashley Crayton of Bullard; two brothers, Dennis (Vera) Crayton
of Jacksonville and Gary (Ernestine) Crayton of Tyler; five sisters, Ella Lois
(Charles) Matthews of Dallas; Glenna Fay (Roy) Kelly of Houston; Nyoka Crayton-Mayes
of Bullard; Janice (Devotie) Foggle of Fort Worth and Joyce Crayton of Houston;
and three grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Larry D. Davis, Charles Thompkins, Charles Flournoy, Gerald
Nelson, Cedric Hackney, James Hackney Jr., Jeffrey Kendrick and Melvin Whitaker.
Honorary pallbearers are the deacons of Corinth Missionary Baptist Church and
Jimmy Hall.
Public viewing will be 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Friday, Feb. 23, 2007, at the funeral
home. Mr. Crayton will lie in state at the church from noon to 1 p.m.
