Jesse Clyde Cook
Graveside services for Jesse Cook will be at 2 p.m., Saturday, at Jarratt
Cemetery with Dr. Charles Swilling, pastor of the Rocky Springs Baptist Church
officiating under the direction of Boren-Conner Funeral Home of Jacksonville.
Jesse Clyde Cook was born Nov. 11, 1938, in Jacksonville and died Jan. 23, 2007,
in Jacksonville at his residence.
He had retired from the U.S. Army after 20 years of service and had served in
the Vietnam War. He was also retired from the Jacksonville Independent School
District and was currently employed by Cardinal Health Services with 16 years of
service. He was a Baptist, a driver for Meals on Wheels for many years and a
member of the genealogical society.
Jesse was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Corley Cook, father, Morris Cook,
and uncle and aunt, Archie and Helen Cook, all of Jacksonville.
Jessie is survived by a brother and sister-in-law, Marshall Ray and Elizabeth
Cook of Salinas, Calif., one sister, Velma Ann Cook of Palestine, and a cousin,
Donna Cook Taylor of Jacksonville.
J.C. as he was known by his family, was a loving brother, a loyal friend and
good neighbor. He loved his family and friends and was always willing to help
someone in need and will be remembered as a good Christian man.
