T.E. “Pete” Beard

Services for T.E. “Pete” Beard, 80, of Frankston, will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 20, 2007, in the chapel of Thompson Funeral Home of Frankston with the Rev. J.A. Griffin officiating.

Burial will be at Frankston City Cemetery.

Mr. Beard died Feb. 18, 2007, at his residence. He was born Sept. 24, 1926, in Frankston to Alex Thurman Beard and Winnie Mae Beard. He worked in construction and served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He was a Baptist.

He was preceded in death by his father, Alex Thurman Beard; mother, Winnie Mae Welch Beard; and his brother, Billy Jack Beard.

Survivors include his wife, Beverly Beard of Frankston; sons, Spencer and wife, Janisue of Frankston; Greg and Becky Beard of Frankston; Gary and wife, Margo Beard of Athens; brothers, T.L. Beard of Frankston; D.A. “Doodle” and wife, Betty of Frankston; sisters, Ruth Novalene Burris of Dallas; Betty Reese of Dallas; Betty Reese of Dallas; Mary Ann Randall of Dallas; Gladys Overton and husband, Bill of Bullard; sisters-in-law, Francis Beard of Frankston; and Barbara Burks and husband, Gerald of Jacksonville; 10 grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be David Smith, L.D. Dickerson, Tim Burks, James Beard, Jerry Beard and Blake Bumbard.

Honorary pallbearers are Billy Bacon, Thomas Cook, Vernon Harton, Robert Henderson and Terry Bacon.

Memorials may be made to the Frankston City Cemetery.
