GLENN WILCOX
Funeral for Richard Glenn Wilcox, 53, of Athens, was at 2 p.m. Thursday
at Athens First Baptist Church with Terry Thomison officiating. Burial
was in Malakoff City Cemetery. Mr. Wilcox drown June 15 in the Neches
River near Weches in Houston County.
He was born Aug. 24, 1954 in Athens to Ovie Presley and Dorothy Robertson Wilcox. He graduated from Athens High School in 1972 and was a lifelong resident. He was owner/operator of the City Market and had owned Fast Oil and Lube and One Stop Tire. He served as president of Athens Country Club 1988-2002 and served on the Airport Advisory Board.
Survivors include his wife, Amy Stout Wilcox of LaRue; a son, Terry Glenn Wilcox of Athens; two daughters, Kimberly Kay Haning of Malakoff and Monica Mischa Wilcox of Tulsa, Okla.; a stepdaughter, Susie Stout of LaRue; stepson, Cameron Meador of LaRue; his mother, Dorothy Wilcox of Athens; sister, Lynn (Sissy) Rogers of Mesquite; five grandchildren; one niece; one nephew; and other relatives.
Arrangements were under the direction of Cooper Funeral Home of Athens.
