LETHA JO MONROE PARSONS

Funeral for Letha Jo Monroe Parsons, 67, of Rusk was at 10 am. Thursday at the Rusk First Baptist Church with the Rev. Lee Welch and the Rev. Don Copeland officiating. Burial was in Lowes Chapel Cemetery.

Mrs. Parsons died June 16 in New Braunfels. She was born Feb. 13, 1941 in Rusk. She was a lifelong resident of Rusk and a member of First Baptist Church and church choir. She was previous owner of the George Monroe Flower Shop in Rusk.

Preceding her in death were her parents, George and Morgree Monroe; a brother, George Elbert Monroe; and grandchildren, Caleb and Kara Parsons.

She is survived by her husband of 51 years, Thomas Lee Parsons of Rusk; four sons and two daughters-in-law, David Parsons of Rusk, Marty Parsons of San Marcos, Andrew and Brenda Parsons of Jacksonville and Robin and Beverly Parsons of Gallatin; two daughters and sons-in-law, Rebecca and David Jacobs of Rusk and Deborah and Cliff Cary of New Braunfels; a sister, Frances Murdoch of Huntsville, Ark.; brother and sister-in-law, Thomas and Betty Monroe of Carthage; 17 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; a nephew and his wife, John and Betsy Murdoch of Fayetteville, Ark.; and a niece, Mary Turney of Rusk.

Pallbearers were grandsons including Christopher Jacobs, Zachary Jacobs, Blake Parker, Joshua Parsons, Joseph Jones, Cliff Cary Jr. and Richard Parsons. If desired, memorials may be made to First Baptist Church Library Fund, P.O. Box 258, Rusk 75785.
