Elba C. Morris

 Funeral services for Elba C. Morris, 82, of Mount Selman will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, July 23, 2008, at Boren-Conner Funeral Home, Jacksonville, Renfro Memorial Chapel, with Rev. Dan Middleton officiating. Burial will follow at Center Cemetery in Owentown. Elba Morris was born Jan. 22, 1926, in Jacksonville to Ira T. Tidwell and Ruth Bradley Tidwell. She attended school in Dialville and graduated from Beaumont High School. She was a lifelong area resident of Jacksonville and Mount Selman. She was a member of the Mount Selman United Methodist Church and had retired as a customer service manager for Montgomery Ward in Tyler. She went to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday, July 20, 2008, at Legacy Hospice in Tyler. Elba was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Harold Emory Morris; sisters, Lottie and Dorothy; and brother, Harvey. She is survived by her daughter and husband, Robin Smoot and Noel of Mount Selman; her son, Eric Joshua Morris of Tyler; four grandchildren, Kimberly Brooks, April Smoot, Brian Smoot and Joshua Morris; five great-grandchildren, Ashley Miles, Callisha Miles, Britney Miles, Ethan Smoot and Taren Smoot; nieces, Nancy Harbison and Louise Hunter, with a special thank you for all her love and support and help; and nephew, Keith Hunter. Pallbearers will be Jamie Ellis, Keith Hunter, Brian Smoot, Eark Hale, Stanley Hunter and Mike Smith. Visitation was from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Boren-Conner Funeral Home, Jacksonville. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Mount Selman Methodist Church. The family would especially like to thank Hospice Legacy Serenity House and particularly Janet Lortez and Sonja Burks for all they have done.
