Mary Ann "Granny" King

 Funeral services for Mary Ann "Granny" King, 77, of Sacul, will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, July 26, 2008 at the McKnight Methodist Church near Cushing with Dan Rhodes officiating. Burial will be in Sacul Cemetery under the direction of Dickie Allen Funeral Home of Cushing. Mrs. King died Wednesday, July 23, 2008 in Sacul. She was born June 28, 1931 to Leslie and Mary Ellen Parrish Cheevers. Mrs. King had lived most of her life in Sacul and had been a school teacher for 32 years at Joe Wright Elementary School in Jacksonville. She graduated from Stephen F. Austin University with a master's degree. She was a member of the McKnight Congressional Methodist Church.Mrs. king was preceded in death by her husband, Tom Jack King. Survivors include her son, Tommy King of Sacul; daughter, Linda Williams of Fort Worth; brother, Leslie Cheevers Jr. of Lake Jackson; sister, Kathleen Nick of Lufkin; and grandchildren, Stephanie King, Letecia Williams, Kimberly Williams and Matthew King. Pallbearers will be Terry Nichols, Mike Nichols, Billy King, James Nick, Dan Wilson and Tommy King. Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home in Cushing.
