ED KIELY

Funeral for Ed Kiely, 84, of Jacksonville was at 2 p.m. Tuesday at First United Methodist Church, Jacksonville with the Rev. Dr. Edwin Crank and the Rev. Dr. Faulk Landrum officiating. Burial was in Resthaven Memorial Park, Jacksonville.

Mr. Kiely died Monday, June 30. He was born Feb. 26, 1924 in Dallas and had lived in Jacksonville more than 50 years. He was owner of the Kiely Printing Company.

Mr. Kiely was an active member of the First United Methodist Church and the Jacksonville Rotary Club.

He was president and a member of the East Texas Division of the State Board of Printing Industries Assn. He was a member of the board of the Jacksonville Chamber of Commerce and was always an active sports enthusiast. He served briefly as interim coach for Lon Morris College and worked at the Jacksonville Daily Progress and the Longview News Journal as a sports writer. He continued this interest throughout his life.

His 50 years in the graphic arts industry were recognized in 2001 as Outstanding Business Man by the Chamber of Commerce and in 2003 he was honored by the Lon Morris College as an Alumni Who Makes A Difference.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Edward Douglas and Irby Campbell Kiely.

Mr. Kiely is survived by his wife of more than 49 years, Evelyne  Kiely of Jacksonville; a brother and sister-in-law, the Rev. Harry Campbell and Arlene Kiely of Silver Spring, Md.; nephews, Matthew Kiely and Joel Kiely both of Washington D.C., Aaron Kiely and his wife Melissa and their two sons Kevin and Thomas, all of La Canada Flintridge, Calif. and Adam Kiely, his wife Roxanna and their daughter Christi Anna, all of Gaithersburg, Md.; special friends and sisters in law, Artrell Bunn Sanders of Henderson and Annie Lou Bunn of New Summerfield, both former employees.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 – 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, July 8, 2008 at the First United Methodist Church in Jacksonville before the service.
