GROGAN
Funeral for Linda Jo Grogan, 71. of Nacogdoches, was at 2 p.m. June 12
at Laird Funeral Home chapel in Nacogdoches with the Rev. Dr. Johnny
Dammon officiating.
Mrs. Grogan died June 10. She was born Nov. 15, 1936 in Grapeland to the late Charles Fred and Neva L. Haltom Jones.
She was reared in Grapeland, where she played basketball and was active in all school activities. She graduated as valedictorian of her class of 1955.
She attended Stephen F. Austin State University, was a member of the honor society, earned a bachelors degree in home economics and later a masters degree in elementary education.
She married Robert V. Grogan in 1957 and they owned and operated Nacogdoches Floral Co. for more than 29 years. She was a member and past president of the Altrusa Club.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Sondra and Kenny Martin and Tonya and Dan Singletary; a son and daughter-in-law, Keith and Pat Grogan, all of Nacogdoches; five grandchildren, Scott Diggs, Charles Grogan, Stephen Martin, Amy Martin and Joseph Singletary; one great grandchild, Addison Diggs; and one sister and brother in law, Frieda and Joe Holt of Harlingen.
Pallbearers were Tommy Kig, Wayne Willis Raymond Dolezel, Cecil Sparks, Ray Spivey, Roy Hardman, Matt Mercer and James Ballow.
Honorary pallbearers were members of the Nacogdoches Antique Car Club.
