Katherine Faydell “Dimp” Ellis 

Funeral services for Katherine Faydell “Dimp” Ellis, 85, of Jacksonville, will be held at 10:30 a.m., Monday, June 2, 2008, at Renfro Memorial Chapel at Boren-Conner Funeral Home, Jacksonville with Rev. C. L. Taylor and Rev. Mike Eddy officiating. Burial will follow at Resthaven Memorial Park Cemetery in Jacksonville under the direction of Boren-Conner Funeral Home, Jacksonville. Mrs. Ellis was born April 2, 1923 in Palestine to James and Nener Mae Walls Cecil. She died Friday morning, May 30, 2008 at Hospice of East Texas at Tyler. She was a housewife and had lived her life in the Jacksonville area. She was a Charter member of the First Assembly of God Church in Jacksonville for more than sixty years. She worked with the Women’s Ministries from 1954 to 1975 and also worked with the Missionettes and served as a Sunday School teacher for sixty years. She volunteered at Gardendale Nursing Home for ten years and sang with the “Happy Group” at all of the Jacksonville Nursing Homes. Dimp was preceded in death by her husband, Claude Lee Ellis on January 20, 2002.She is survived by one sister, Margaret Bobbitt of Tyler and nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Johnny Lovelady, Ricky Bobbitt, Gary Bobbitt, Marvin Socia, Gerald McCool, and Dakota Ainsworth. Honorary pallbearers will be Bill Bobbitt and Carlton Owings.
