C.B. BROACH

Graveside service for C.B. Broach, 87, of Rusk was at 2 p.m. Thursday, March 20, at the Arnold Cemetery near Alto with Mike Bradford and the Rev. Charles Haley officiating.

Mr. Broach died T March 18. He was born Jan. 15, 1921, in Appleby to Otis Allen and Ruthie Lee Laws Broach. He lived most of his life in Cherokee County and was a member of the Eastside Baptist Church. He was a World War II Navy veteran, and worked as a self-employed plumber for 33 years. He taught Bible school at the First Baptist Church in Jacksonville and later at Eastside Baptist in Rusk.

He was preceded in death by his brothers, Bertrum (Mutt) Broach and Milton (Tot) Broach; sisters, Mary Greening, Mamie Childress and Gladys Latham Solley; and a great-grandson, John Christopher Brougher.

Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Alma Petty Broach of Rusk; son and daughter-in-law, Charles and Melinda Broach of Jacksonville; daughter and son-in-law, Pamela and Victor Whadford of Rusk; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Otis Earl (Bud) and Sue Broach of Rusk and Lewis and Donna Broach of Washington; a sister, Nezzie Higgins of Pollok; grandchildren and spouses Chris Broach, Laura and Lacey Wilcox, Lana and Paul Rawlinson, and Sarah Whadford; great-grandchildren, Taylor Brougher, Elisabeth Brougher, Luke Prosise, Benjamin Prosise, Ashlynne Rawlinson and Destiny Rawlinson.

Pallbearers were Chris Broach, Paul Rawlinson, Eugene Childress, Luke Prosise, Ben Prosise and Taylor Brougher. Honorary pallbearers were Lacey Wilcox and Vic Whadford.
