JAMES PRYOR
Funeral for James Pryor, 82, of Tyler, was at 10 a.m. Friday at New
Harmony Baptist Church with the Rev. Grady McDonald officiating.
Graveside service was at 2:30 p.m. at Cedar Hill Cemetery. He died July
16 and was born Nov. 25, 1924, in Rusk to the late James Wilburn and
Jimmie Emma Whitehead Pryor. He served in the Navy during World War II
and was a theater manager in Tyler, Rusk and Jacksonville and was a
member of New Harmony Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Pryor of Tyler; daughters, Sally Mathis of Hallsville and Shelia Worthen of Tyler; stepsons, Clarence Sowell of Tyler and Ronnie Sowell of Frankston; 10 grand-children; eight great-grandchildren. Caudle-Rutledge Funeral Directors, Lindale was in charge.
