Funeral for Justine Glenda Sheffield Poole, 75, of Alto will be at noon
Saturday, Sept. 29, at the New Hope Baptist Church in Alto with the Rev.
Lionel Whitaker officiating. Burial will be in Sweet Union Cemetery.
Mrs. Poole died Sept. 21. She was born Oct. 6, 1931, in Kennard to Elbert and Velma Wallace Sheffield. She lived in Alto most of her life and was a member of the Union Hill baptist Church. She was a cook and worked with the head start program at Alto ISD for 27 years.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two sons, James Poole and Raymond Poole; an infant daughter; four brothers and a sister.
Survivors are her husband, Acie Poole of Alto; four sons and daughters-in-law, Archie and Alifaye Poole of Woodville, Acie Jr. and Angelia Poole of Houston, Jessie and Delonda Poole of Jacksonville and Keith and Bakaya Poole of Alto; six daughters and sons-in-law, Arleen and Larry Lacy of Whitehouse, Brenda and Clarence Ross of Lufkin, Joyce and Alfred Davis of Smithville, Wilma and Jessie Johnson of Cleveland, Vanessa and Curtis Thacker of Alto and Marsha and Brian Ross of Lufkin; two brothers, Cecil Sheffield of Tadmore and Ronald White of Crockett; a sister, Alberta Bookman of Houston; a sister-in-law, Mazie Watson of Cleveland; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Arrangements are under the direction of O.T. Allen & Son Funeral Home. Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
