SYBLE MCMAHON

Funeral for Syble McMahon, 93, of Alto will be at 10 a.m. Thursday in the O.T. Allen & Son Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. Odis Bryan officiating. Burial will be in Arnold Cemetery. Mrs. McMahon died Monday. She was born June 19, 1914, in Douglas to Ramsey and Myrtie Swain Starling. She was a member of the Hilltop Baptist Church, a custodian at First Baptist Church, worked at the Indian Mound Nursery, Alto ISD cafeteria, flower shop at Thomas Hardware and operated Starling Cafe in Rusk. She was preceded in death by her husband, A.G. (Oss) McMahon; a daughter, Dolores Nerren; a brother, Roscoe Starling; and a sister, Beatrice Brennan.

Survivors are two daughters and sons-in-law, Gayla and Thomas Long of Alto and Marie and Jim Tighe of Houston; a son and daughter-in-law, Mark and Dianna McMahon of Neches; eight grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. Memorials may be made to the Campground Baptist Church, P.O. Box 798, Alto 75925 to establish a memorial in her name.
