Funeral services for Lt. Col. Ret. John Conrad Martin, Jr. , 76, of The
Colony will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday June 19, 2007 at Thompson Funeral
Home Jacksonville with Rev. R.S. Dyess officiating.
Burial will be at Providence Cemetery, Dailville.
Col. Martin died June 15, 2007 at Medical Center of Lewisville.
He was born April 29, 1931 in Humboldt, S.D.
Col. Martin was a Retired Lt. Colonel with the U.S. Air Force with 23
years of service and a retired ground school simulator instructor for
America Airlines for 23 years
He was preceded in death by his wife Patsy Jane Martin.
He is survived by his son John C. Martin, III and his wife Gloria of
Gallatin; sisters: Eunice DeWitt of Concordia, KS and Armilda Grosenick
of Lakewood, Colorado; granddaughters Crystal Lee Slaton and her husband
Brent of Allen, Texas, Sarah Michelle Martin of Flint and great
grandchild Ryder Allen Slaton of Allen.
Pallbearers are members of the U.S. Air Force Honor Guard.
Honorary pallbearers are Mike Falk, Kenny Falk, Dave McCormick, Dean
McCormick, Kenny Dyess and Keith Dyess.
Visitation is from 7-9 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.

Survivors are a son and daughter-in-law, John C. III and Gloria Martin of Gallatin; two sisters, Eunice DeWitt of Concordia, Kan. and Armilda Grosenick of Lakewood, Colo.; two granddaughters, Crystal Lee Slaton and her husband, Brent of Allen and Sarah Michelle Martin of Flint; a great-grandchild, Ryder Allen Slaton of Allen.
