Martha Ray Holcomb
Funeral services for Martha Ray Holcomb, age 80, of Rusk are scheduled
for 10 a.m., Thursday, August 9, 2007 in Wallace-Thompson Funeral Home
Chapel with Rev. Charles Nunnally officiating.
Interment will be in Holcomb Cemetery under the direction of
Wallace-Thompson Funeral Home in Rusk.
Mrs. Holcomb died Monday, August 6, 2007 in a Jacksonville Hospital. She
was born May 4, 1927 in Alto, TX to the late Harrison and Verna Black.
She was a homemaker. She was a resident of the Bulah Community for 63
years. She was a graduate of Alto High School. She was a member of Adams
Chapel Methodist Church.
She is survived by her husband of 63 years, Emmett Holcomb of Bulah
Community, two sons and daughters-in-law, Richard and Sherry Holcomb of
Rusk, Robert and Elizabeth Holcomb of Rusk, daughter and son-in-law,
Susan and Johnnie Richey of Ennis, TX, two sisters, Dorothy McClure of
Alto, Alva Joy Jones of Alto, brother and sister-in-law, Harrison
Holcomb and Sheryl Black of Alto, five granddaughters, Missy Holcomb
Adams of Rusk, Cindy Rainey of Jacksonville, Heather Nichols of
Nacogdoches, Holly Gresham of Rusk, Tara Richey of Ennis, two grandsons,
Heath Holcomb of College Station, TX, Jonathan Richey of Lansing,
Michigan, and twelve great grandchildren. Pallbearers will include Neill
Holcomb, Chuck Hinton, Charles Dear, Kenny McClure, Stacy Black, Ty
Black, David Miller and Matt Miller.
Honorary pallbearers will be G.M. Berry, Tom Theodore, Tim Theodore, Hal
Theodore, Johnny McClure, Dewayne McClure, Walter Cowart, Tim Cowart,
and Bob Jones.
Family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m., Wednesday, August 8, 2007
at the funeral home. If desired, memorials may be made to the Adams
Chapel Methodist Church in care of Butch Holcomb, Rt. 1 Box 1771, Rusk,
TX 75785.
