RUSSELL ELMER GRIFFIN
 

Graveside services for Russell Elmer Griffin, 79, of Rusk was at 11 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 11, 2007, at Roselawn Park Cemetery in Palestine with the Rev. Don Copeland.

Mr. Griffin died Oct. 9. He was born Nov. 30, 1927, to James Russell and Nellie Esther Hughs Griffin. He was a resident of Rusk for 28 years, formerly of Odessa. He was owner and operator of Griffin's Small Engine Repair in Rusk for 20 plus years. He served in the United States Navy during World War II.

Preceding him in death were his wife Betty Jean Griffin Aug. 8, 2006; and a brother Morris Griffin.

He is survived by three brothers and two sisters-in-law, Elba Eudell Griffin of Houston, Bobby J. and Carolyn Griffin of Cisco, Gaylon D. and Delores Griffin of Nacogdoches; a sister and brother-in-law, Eva Nell and Jerry Southerland of Eastland.
