Kate Herring Durrett
Funeral services for Kate Herring Durrett, 99, of Jacksonville are set
for Saturday, August 4, 2007 at 10 a.m. at Autry Funeral Home Chapel
with Rev. James Blaylock officiating. Burial will follow at Mount
Comfort Cemetery.
Mrs. Durrett was born on July 21, 1908 in New Hope, she passed away on
August 1, 2007 in Jacksonville.
She was a homemaker and a Baptist.
Mrs. Durrett was preceded in death by her parents Joseph and Ella Davis
Herring, her husband Carl Durrett, daughter Glynn Tankersley, three
sons-in-law Gene Tankersley, David Josey and Charles Lowe, grandsons and
Rusty and Edward Durrett, four sisters and five brothers.
Survivors include one son and daughter-in-law Jerry and Eva Durrett of
Wills Point, two daughters and son-in-law; Janice Lowe, Cypress and
Betty and Ralph Sayers, Anahuac, Il., 11 grandchildren, Danny Josey,
Kevin Tankersley, Chyrl Lowe Brhlik, David Lowe, Deborah Vandel, Kathy
Chambliss, Randy, Ralph and Scott Sayers, Sandra Messer and Keith
Durrett; 23 great-grandchildren and 9 great-great-grandchildren, two
sisters-in-law; Eddie Jowel, Jacksonville and Geri Herring, Tyler and
several nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be grandsons.
Visitation will begin on Friday, August 3, 2007 with family receiving
friends from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
