Mack Dover
Services for Mack Dover, 77, of Maydelle, will be at 11 a.m., Saturday, Jan. 13,
2007, in the Wallace-Thompson Funeral Home Chapel in Rusk, with the Rev. Don
Copeland officiating, under the direction of Wallace-Thompson Funeral Home of
Rusk.
Burial will be at Oakland Cemetery.
Mr. Dover died Jan. 10, 2007, at a Jacksonville hospital. He was born April 19,
1929, in Alto to the late Meredith David Washington and Sybil Whitten Dover.
He was a life-long resident of Maydelle. He was a member of the Pleasant Grove
Missionary Baptist Church. He was a retired truck driver for AMPI for 35 years.
He was a former Maydelle school board member, and he served in the Korean War.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Corine Dover, Sept. 27, 2000; son, Bobby
Wayne Dover, July 4, 1961; grandson, Jacob Elijah Clark, Dec. 24, 2000; three
brothers, Thomas Dover, David Dover and George Dover; sister, Myra Jane Dover
Fulton; and three brothers-in-law, Stuart Shuptrine, Doyle Bingham and Wayne
Alexander.
Mr. Dover is survived by three daughters and sons-in-law, Brenda Kay and Billy
Ray Goff of Maydelle; Barbara Ann and Mickey Singletary of Maydelle; Rebecca and
Alan Kirby of Mount Hope; brother and sister-in-law, Carroll and Ann Dover of
Lufkin; three sisters, Bonnie Shuptrine of Kingsville, Mae Beth Bingham of
Maydelle, Mozelle Alexander of Rusk; three sisters-in-law, Joyce Dover of
Maydelle; Margaret Dover of Maydelle; Nita Dover of Rusk; numerous grandchildren
and great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers include Zachary Clark, Jeremiah Clark, Aaron Dement, Jeremy
Singletary, Brandon Knight and Dale Dover.
Honorary pallbearers will be Dwain French, Joe French, George Clark, Jim Dover
and Jimmy Watson.
Family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m., Friday, Jan. 12, 2007, at the funeral
home.
