Barbara Handley Detwiler
Graveside services for Barbara Handley Detwiler, age 73, of Rusk were
held Saturday, April 21, 2007 in Reese Cemetery with Steve Handley
officiating under the direction of Wallace-Thompson Funeral Home in
Rusk.
Mrs. Detwiler died April 20, 2007 in a Rusk nursing home.
She was born August 1, 1933 in Reese.
She was a resident of Rusk for two years, formerly of Reese. She was
Church of Christ. She was a seamstress and was employed by a telephone
company for several years.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Walter and Ollie Handley,
daughter, Phyllis Anita Farrow Wells, brother, David Handley, sister,
Nora Myrick.
She is survived by daughter, Mary Frances Farrow Kellie of Rusk, son,
John Detwiler of Dallas, TX, two sisters and brother-in-law, Nadine
Ingram of Jacksonville, Mary and Robert Lee of Reese, two granddaughters
and husbands Christy and Greg Stewart of Lufkin, TX, Myra and Ronnie
McCreight of Rusk, three great grandsons, Preston Stewart of Lufkin, TX,
Wessley Stewart of Lufkin, TX, Aaron Riley McCreight of Rusk,
sister-in-law, Jean Handley of Tyler, TX, aunt, Lena Ray of Palestine,
TX, a host of cousins, nieces and nephews and close friends Mr. and Mrs.
Travis Etheridge of Reese.
Honorary pallbearers are Robert E. Lee, Travis Etheridge, Larry Coker,
Charles Owen, Johnny Reagan, and Edward Reagan.
Visitation will be from 3 p.m. until service time.
