Funeral services for Catherine Barksdale Davenport,
age 90, of Jacksonville are scheduled for 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, April 2,
2008 at the First Presbyterian Church, Jacksonville. Burial will
follow at Meador Cemetery, Jacksonville. Services are under the
direction of Autry Funeral Home, Jacksonville.
Mrs. Davenport died Sunday, March 30, 2008 in Rockwall, TX. She was
born February 18, 1918 in Glenmora, Louisiana to William Eli Barksdale
and Bruna Harris Barksdale. She was an active member of the First
Presbyterian Church, Jacksonville and was a retired registered nurse.
Mrs. Davenport was preceded in death by husband, Dr. Harbert Davenport
and son, Chuck Davenport.
Survivors are sons and daughters-in-law, Bill and Alice Davenport,
Macomb, IL., John and Donna Davenport, Rockwall and Dr. Paul Davenport,
Jacksonville, sister and brother-in-law, Gustava and Howard Cleland,
Jackson, MS., 7 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren, several nieces and
nephews and other relatives and friends.
Pallbearers are Johnny Davenport, Steven Davenport, David Davenport,
Hugh Goodpasture, Bob Adamson and Larry McCarroll.
No visitation.
