Graveside services for Anna Lou Darby, 89, of New Summerfield are scheduled for Wednesday, March 26, 2008, at 2:00 PM at McDonald Cemetery, New Summerfield with Rev. Hank Chandler officiating and under the direction of Autry Funeral Home, Jacksonville.
Mrs. Darby died Thursday, March 20, 2008 in Tyler. She was born March 25, 1918 in Royce City, Texas to Louis and Mae Anderson. She attended the Methodist Church. Mrs. Darby taught school in New Summerfield, Spring Hill, Carlile, and Rusk, retiring after 30 years of service. She and husband B. R. Darby co-owned Darby Greenhouses in New Summerfield.
Mrs. Darby was preceded in death by her parents and a son Ken Darby. She is survived by her husband, B. R. Darby, New Summerfield; son and daughter-in-law, Don and Patricia Darby, New Summerfield; and sister, Nell Young, Winters, CA.; three grandchildren and spouses, Jennifer and Jason Lambright, Kelly Snyder, Lauren Darby; one great-grandchild, Sydney Snyder; and several nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Russell Kennedy, Bill vanHoten, Archie Underwood, Dayton Hutson, Steve Bartfield and Billy McCutcheon. Honorary Pallbearers will be Robert Riddle, Greg Jones, Bart Bauer and Junior Brown.
Visitation with the family will be Tuesday, March 25, 2008, from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Autry Funeral Home.
