Sallie Frances Arnwine Buckner
Services for Sallie Frances Arnwine Buckner, 100, of Tyler formerly of
Jacksonville, will be at 2 p.m., Friday, Jan. 5, 2007, at the Autry Funeral Home
Chapel, under the direction of Autry Funeral Home of Jacksonville.
Burial will follow at Resthaven Memorial Park.
Sallie Frances Arnwine Buckner was born Nov. 23, 1906, in Maydelle, the daughter
of J.A. Arnwine and Martha Ann Tabitha Watson Arnwine; and died Jan. 1, 2007, in
Tyler.
She was a graduate of Stephen F. Austin College and was a member of Central
Baptist Church of Jacksonville.
Mrs. Buckner was preceded in death by her parents; by her husband, former
Jacksonville Mayor R.C. Buckner; and by her sister, Nan Arnwine and brothers,
W.D. Arnwine, D.L. Arnwine and Houston Arnwine.
She is survived by her daughter, Bobye Buckner Adamson of Tyler; by her
daughter, Bilye Buckner Werner and her husband, Joseph G. Werner of Dallas; by
granddaughter. Angela Adamson Hanson and her husband, Ronald Hansen of North
Mankato, Minnesota; by granddaughter, Susan Werner Stratton and her husband
Derek D. Stratton of Dallas; by her grandsons, Marc Crouch, Tommy Woods, Jacob
Woods and Joseph Stratton; by her sisters, Jimye Pipes of Rusk and Ona Jenkins
of Jacksonville; and by several nieces and nephews.
The family expresses their gratitude to special friends, Linda Bailey, Linda
Barton Brunson, Mary Finley Rayon, Mary Spradlin and Loretta Taylor.
Visitation will be 5-7 p.m., Thursday, Jan. 4, 2007, at the funeral home.
If desired, memorials may be made to Hospice of East Texas, 4111 University
Blvd, Tyler, Texas; Central Baptist Church, 1909 E. Rusk, Jacksonville, Texas or
other charity of choice.
