Joan Smith Broussard
Memorial services for Joan Smith Broussard, 73, of Gallatin, will be held at a
time to be determined later, under the direction of Autry Funeral Home.
Mrs. Broussard died Sunday, April 1, 2007, in Jacksonville. She was born May 15,
1933, in Gallatin. She was a loan officer for a Houston bank and she attended
Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James C. Broussard; and her daughter,
Jo Broussard Crouch.
Survivors include her daughter, Carol Broussard of Houston; her friend Johnny
Bufford; her sister, Elsie Bolton; her sister-in-law, Betty J. Broussard; her
two granddaughters; Rose Osborn and Joanna Crouch; her four great-grandchildren
and several nieces and nephews. Johnny’s children and many wonderful friends
will miss her dearly.
Joan Smith Broussard is the great-granddaughter of Jackson Smith, the man who
donated the land for the town of Jacksonville, after whom the town is named.
