Funeral services for Elvie Ann Otts Allen, 84, of Jacksonville, will be held Wednesday, Oct. 3, 2007 at 2 p.m. in Thompson Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Andy Fannette officiating. Burial will be in Resthaven Memorial Park under the direction of Thompson Funeral Home, Jacksonville.Ms. Allen died Sunday, Sept. 30, 2007 following a short illness. She was born Nov. 1, 1922 and lived most of her life in Jacksonville. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, David and Bertha Allen of Mexia; grandchildren Dwayne and Charlene Allen of Cypress and Brandon and Keri Allen of Mexia; plus eight great-grandchildren and special friend Jack Slover Davis of Jacksonville. Pallbearers will be Dwayne Allen, Brandon Allen, Mark Hanks, Stephen Allen, Dale Fuller and Bennie Earl Allen. Ms. Allen loved animals, especially cats and dogs. Mrs. Allen died Sept. 30. She was born Nov. 1, 1922, and had lived most of her life in Jacksonville. She was a long-time supporter of NSPCA.
Survivors are a son and daughter-in-law, David and Bertha Allen of Mexia; grandchildren, Dwayne and Charlene Allen of Cypress, Brandon and Keri Allen of Mexia; two sisters, Evelyn Allen of Jacksonville and Joy Sanders of Mixon; several brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law; nieces, nephews, cousins; eight great-grandchildren; and a special friend, Jack Slover Davis of Jacksonville.
Pallbearers were Dwayne Allen, Brandon Allen, Mark Hanks, Stephen Allen, Dale Fuller and Bennie Earl Allen.
