Thomas B. “Brit” Alexander
Graveside services for Thomas B. “Brit” Alexander, 75, of Jacksonville, will be
at 2 p.m., Tuesday, Jan. 16, 2007, at Smith Bend-Coon Creek Cemetery in Clifton
with the Rev. Bill Schivler officiating, under the direction of Autry Funeral
Home of Jacksonville.
Burial will follow at Smith Bend-Coon Creek Cemetery.
Mr. Alexander died Jan. 11, 2007, in Tyler. He was born Aug. 5, 1931, in
Texarkana, Ark.
He worked 30 years with Lufkin Industries. He was a member of Central Baptist
Church. She was a former member of First Baptist of Lufkin and Central Baptist
Dept. 5 Men's Sunday school class.
He was preceded in death by parents, Thomas Webster and Mary Britian Alexander
and a step-grandson, John Russell Rains.
Survivors include his wife, Barbara Smith Alexander of Jacksonville; step-son
and spouse, Acie John Rains and Mary of Katy; step-daughter and spouse, Patricia
Raines Darby and Don of New Summerfield; step-children, Patti Love, Jennifer
Darby Lambrick, Kelly Snyder, Lauran Darby; and step-great-grandchildren, Justin
Love and Sydney Snyder.
Honorary pallbearers will be the Dept. 5 Men's Sunday school class of Central
Baptist Church.
Visitation was 5-7 p.m., Saturday, at the funeral home.
