Madelyn Sharp
Funeral services for Madelyn Sharp, 83, of Alto and formerly of Rusk
will be today at 2:00 p.m. at the O.T. Allen & Son Funeral Home Chapel
in Alto with Rev. David Darst officiating. Burial will be in the Alto
City Cemetery.
Mrs. Sharp died Saturday in Alto. She was born April 21,1924 in Alto to
Arthur and Gladys Finch Brooks. Mrs. Sharp had lived in Rusk for many
years and also had lived in Tyler. She was a member of the United
Methodist Church in Rusk and had been a homemaker as well as a
beautician.
She was preceded in death by husband, Charles Sharp, brothers, Travis
Brooks, Pete Brooks, and R.L. Brooks.
Survivors include daughter and son in law Sharla and Marshall Corley of
Alto; son and daughter in law Paul and Linda Sharp of Tyler; Brothers
and sisters in law A.L. ‘Boots’ Brooks of Alto, W.A. ‘Bill’ and Marge
Brooks of Poplar Bluff, Missouri, Arthur and Joy Brooks of Lufkin;
sisters and brother in law Shirley and Dave Meeks, Nancy Brooks, both of
Mineola; five grandchildren, Stephanie Davis, Clint Corley, Shelly
Kornegay, Christy Imbriele and Shelly Tubbs; nine great grandchildren
Corin Kirkpatrick, Brooke Kirkpatrick, Carson Corley, Seth Kornegay,
Zack Kornegay, Spohia Imbriele, Kyle Frank, Cara Frank and Ashley Davis.
Pallbearers are Dave Meeks, Stoney Thompson, Brian Sessions, Tommy
Grogan, George Covington and Steve McCarty.
Honorary pallbearers are Charles Jeter, Marion Lindsey, James Campbell,
Sam Florian, Rev. Jim Goforth, Rev. Lee Welch, Bill Lang.

Mrs. Sharp died Saturday (April 28, 2007). She was born April 21, 1924, in Alto to Arthur and Gladys Finch Brooks. She was a member of the Rusk First United Methodist Church, a homemaker and beautician.
Preceding her in death were her husband, Charles Sharp; and brothers, Travis Brooks, Pete Brooks and R.L. Brooks.
Survivors are a daughter and son-in-law, Sharla and Marshall Corley of Alto; a son and daughter-in-law, Paul and Linda Sharp of Tyler; three brothers and two sisters-inlaw, A.L. (Boots) Brooks of Alto, W.A.
