Graveside service for Lila Eukela Selman, 84, of Alto was at 3 p.m. Sunday at Old Palestine Cemetery with the Rev. Odis Bryan officiating under the direction of O.T. Allen & Son Funeral Home. Mrs. Selman died April 5, 2007. She was born Nov. 29, 1919, in Atoy to Mark and Catherine Sessions Adams. She lived most of her life in Alto and was a member of the Old Palestine Baptist Church.
She worked on a poultry farm, raised cattle and at Lufkin State School. Preceding her in death were her first husband, James McLain in 1972: a sister, Catherine Murphy; and her second husband, William Selman in 1994. Survivors are a step-son and daughter-in-law, J.C. and Helen Selman of Alto; two nephews and their wives, Mark and Caroline Murphy of Sugar Land and James and Adeline Murphy of Jay, Fla. and numerous other nephews and nieces.
