Ray Peters
Services for Ray Peters, 77, of Jacksonville, are scheduled for 2 p.m. Saturday,
April 7, 2007 at the Autry Funeral Home Chapel, Rev. Michael Lewis officiating.
Burial will be in Still Waters Memorial Gardens.
Mr. Peters died Tuesday, April 3 in Jacksonville.
He was born May 27, 1929 in San Augustine, Texas.
He was a mail carrier and a member of Calvary Baptist Church of Kirbyville. A
U.S. Marine, he served in the Korean Conflict and was a member of Odd Fellows.
Mr. Peters is survived by his wife Alice V. Peters and his son Jimmy Sanford of
Jacksonville; his daughters Jean Jackson of Nacogdoches, Terrie Blankenship of
Rusk and Susan Spec and her husband Raymond Spec of Jacksonville; 10
grandchildren; five great-grandchildren and his sister Jackie Holmes of
Kirbyville.
Pallbearers will be David Yancy, Daniel Strickland, David J. Smith, Casey
Blackney, Darrell Canady and James Wolf.
Honorary pallbearers are grandchildren, great-grandchildren and nephews.
Visitation is from 6-8 p.m. Friday, April 6 at the funeral home.
