Joe Winborne
Masonic graveside rites for Joe Winborne, age 76, of Rusk are scheduled
for 11 a.m., Tuesday, May 22 under the direction of Rusk Euclid Masonic
Lodge 45 A.F. & A.M. in Cedar Hill Cemetery with Rev. Odis Bryan and
Rev. Don Copeland officiating.
Mr. Winborne died May 19, 2007 in a Tyler hospice.
He was born January 14, 1931 in Fort Worth to the late Jesse Norman and
Pluma Elvira Mason Winborne.
He was a resident of Rusk for 10 years formerly of Freeport. He was a
member of Memorial Missionary Baptist Church in Rusk. Mr. Winborne
recently received his 50 year Masonic pin where he was a member of the
Masonic Lodge 1195 in Fort Worth. He served in the U.S. Navy during the
Korean War.
He was preceded in death by his wife Margaret Ann Winborne in 2002.
He is survived by a daughter, Dianna Rhea Werner of Alvin; sister and
brother-in-law, Betty and Ed Hall of Rusk; two granddaughters, Jodi
Montemayor and husband Erik of Santa Fe, TX, Jill Saenz and husband Karl
of Cuero, four great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m., Monday, May 21 at
Wallace-Thompson Funeral Home in Rusk.
