Ray E. White
Services for Ray E. White, 89, of Jacksonville, will be held at 11
a.m. Wednesday, July 25, 2007, at Thompson Funeral Home Chapel in
Jacksonville, with the Rev. Corbie Grimes and the Rev. D.L. Stewart
officiating. Burial will be held at Meador Cemetery in Jacksonville.
Mr. White died Sunday, July 22, 2007, in a Tyler hospital. He was born
Nov. 18, 1917, in Reese, Texas. He was a retired truck driver and was a
Baptist. He served in the U.S. Army. Mr. White is preceded in death by
his son, Marcus White; and his brother, Howard White.
Survivors include his wife, Mittie White of Jacksonville; his sons,
Darrell White and wife Cindy of Gonzales La., Clayton White and wife
Carol of Jacksonville, Byron White and wife Tina of Elkhart, Ralph White
and wife Brenda of Weatherford; his brothers, Jolly J. White of Lindale,
and Robert N. “Pete” White and wife Louise of Karnack; his sister,
Maxine Gray of Jacksonville; his six grandchildren; one
great-granddaughter; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers include Corey White, Bradley White, Howard White, Bobby
White, Casey White and Don Wallace.
Visitation will be 7-9 p.m. Tuesday, July 24, 2007, at the funeral home.
