William “Bill” M. Webb
Services for William “Bill” M. Webb, 79, of Jacksonville, will be held
at 10 a.m. Friday, July 6, 2007, at the Thompson Funeral Home Chapel, in
Jacksonville, with Chaplain Kenn Somerville officiating. Burial will be
held at Resthaven Memorial Park, in Jacksonville.
Mr. Webb died Sunday, July 1, 2007, at a Jacksonville nursing home. He
was born June 30, 1928, in Bon Weir, Texas, in Newton County. He retired
from Boeing Aircraft, in Seattle, Wash., in 1985 with 30 years of
service. Served in the U.S. Army and was discharged in 1947. He farmed
in Jacksonville for 10 years and sold at Farmers Market. He was known by
the locals as “Sweet Willy.”
He is preceded in death by his parents, Bertha belle Myers Webb Keys and
William Palmer Webb; his brothers, Truman, Ed, Roy and Sam; and his
sisters, Bertha and Bonnie Mae.
Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Billie Jo Webb of Jacksonville;
his daughters Linda Sue Woolridge and husband Larry of San Antonio and
Loujuana Church and husband Tim of Las Vegas, Nevada; five
grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandson and
several nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers include David Michael George, James Paul George, Robert
“Bob” Morgon, Marvin D. George, Jr., Chris McNertney and Nathan
Somerville.
Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Thursday, July 5, 2007, at the funeral home.
