David Upchurch

 Funeral services for David Upchurch, 53, will be Tuesday, Dec. 4, 2007, 10 a.m. at First Baptist Church with Dr. Allen Reed officiating. Burial will be immediately following at Sunset Memorial Park. Mr. Upchurch was born Oct. 2, 1954, in Port Arthur, to Emmett and Imogene Upchurch, and died Nov. 30, 2007, in LaSalle County. Mr. Upchurch attended First Baptist Church, and was a member of Safari International, the former chairman for the Nacogdoches Historical Landmark Preservation Committee and an avid hunter. A devoted husband and loving dad, Mr. Upchurch was a graduate of Stephen F. Austin State University and a member of the Alumni Association. Surviving Mr. Upchurch is his wife, Jeanne Donnell Upchurch; his daughters, Keri and Taylor of Nacogdoches; his parents, Emmett and Imogene Upchurch of Longview; his brother, Dana and wife Blair of Jacksonville; his sister, Kathy Stephens and husband Richard of Longview, and numerous nephews and nieces. Mr. Upchurch was preceded in death by his first wife, Kay Justice Upchurch. Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church Building Fund, 411 North Street, Nacogdoches, Texas 75961.Visitation will be Monday, Dec. 3, 2007, from 5-7 p.m. at the funeral home. Services are under the direction of Cason Monk-Metcalf Funeral Directors.
