Clyde J. Rhodes
Clyde J. Rhodes went home to be with the Lord on May 3, 2007, in
Jacksonville.
He was born Feb. 7, 1918, in Roxton, Texas. He returned after working 40
years for the First National Bank in Paris, Texas, in the maintenance
department.
Clyde was a member of Ramseur Baptist Church for over 60 years. He loved
to play his guitar and mandolin. He loved to tell stories of growing up
during the Depression. He could always find humor in life, even when
times were hard.
“Papa” was dearly loved by his wife of 64 years, Erma; his two
daughters, the late Judy Hall and husband Robert, and Ginger Whitehead
and husband Billy; six grandchildren, Michael Liles and wife Misty,
Angela Odom and husband Michael, Laura Shuptrine and husband Craig,
Katie Burch and husband Daniel, Timothy Liles and Amy Rhodes; and 17
great-grandchildren.
Services will be held at Thompson Funeral Home Chapel in Jacksonville,
Saturday, May 5, 2007, at 10 a.m. Graveside services will be held at
Restland Cemetery in Roxton, on Sunday, May 6, 2007, at 2 p.m.
