Irene Alexander Northcutt

Services for Irene Alexander Northcutt, 89, of Jacksonville, will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, May 25, 2007, at Autry Funeral Home Chapel, with the Rev. Vernon Lee and the Rev. Ken Goode officiating. Burial will be at Mixon Cemetery.

Mrs. Northcutt died May 22, 2007, in Tyler. She was born June 30, 1917, in Mixon. She was a school teacher for 32 years in Tecula, Mixon and Joe Wright. She attended First Baptist Church of Jacksonville and taught Sunday School for 30 years. We was a member of the “Golden Jubilee’s” and the Retired Teachers Association.

She is preceded in death by her husband of 35 years, W.B. Northcutt; her sisters, Tressie Pierce, Margie Henderson and Louisa Webb; and her brother, Loy Alexander.

Survivors include her daughters, Becky Helms of Bullard and Julie Jo VanderPoel; her grandchildren, J.J. VanderPoel and Charla VanderPoel; her great-grandchild, Chandler Grace VanderPoel; her brother, Wesley Alexander of Troup; her sister, Christine Maxwell of Jacksonville; her caregiver, Karen Coble and several nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers include J.J. VanderPoel, Chris Gibson, Joe Henry Henderson, John David Henderson, Jay Northcutt, DeWayne Brown and Leon Coble.

Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Thursday, May 24, at the funeral home.
