Funeral for Wanda Johnson Marcus, 79, of Dallas, was at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Park Cities Baptist Church, Ellis Chapel, 3933 Northwest Parkway, Dallas under the direction of Sparkman Hillcrest Funeral Home.

Entombment was private at Hillcrest Memorial Park.

Mrs. Marcus was born July 16, 1928, in Chickasaw, Okla., to Raymon and Ercelle Johnson. She died May 11, 2007. She graduated from Alto High School and attended Draughns Business College in Dallas. She worked for Western Union during World War II and returned to Dallas to work for Androtti Oil Company. She was a member of Park Cities Baptist Church where she was involved with the Prime Time Bible Class; was devoted to volunteer organizations in the church, the Vagabonds Club and other groups.

Preceding her in death were her husbands, Bert J. Mitchell and J.J. Marcus and her brothers Ernest and Ford Johnson. Survivors are four sons and two daughters-in-law, Darrin Mitchell, Mark and Shauna Mitchell, Gary and Carol Marcus and Jimmy Marcus; five grandchildren, Nicholas and Brandi Mitchell and Falon, Leah and Dani Mitchell; a brother and sister-in-law, Billy Ray and Herland Johnson; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Wilma Hansen and Virginia and Hubert Davis.
