Wright Johnson
Services for Wright Johnson, 97, of Rusk, formerly of Jacksonville,
will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, June 30, at West Holly Spring Church of the
Living God, with Pastor Doris Johnson, the Rev. Earl Griffith, Elder
Phal Carter and Minister Jerry Ballard officiating, under the direction
of Williams Funeral Home.
Burial will be at Garrett Cemetery.
Mr. Johnson died Monday, June 25, in Rusk. He was born Jan. 1, 1910, in
Rusk County. He attended Laneville Holly Spring public school and West
Holly Spring Church of the Living God. He was a construction worker and
a lifelong resident of Cherokee County.

Funeral for Wright Johnson, 97, of Rusk, formerly of Jacksonville,
was at 11 a.m. Saturday at the West Holly Spring Church of the Living

and Minister Jerry Ballard officiating. Burial was in Garrett Cemetery
under the direction of Williams Funeral Home.
Mr. Johnson died June 25. He was born Jan. 1, 1910, in Rusk County. He was a member of the West Holly Spring Church of the Living God and a retired construction worker. He attended school at Holly Springs near Laneville.
Preceding him in death were his wife, six sons, five daughter, his parents, eight grandchildren, five brothers and four sisters.
Survivors are five daughters, Eula M. Session and Marvella Maddox of Rusk, Loraine Newsome of Tyler, Bertha Bailey of Jacksonville and Dorothy Johnson of Mesquite; 33 grandchildren; 56 great-grandchildren; and 17 great-great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Sandrel Session, Rodney Johnson, Douglas Bailey, Kevin Newsome, Anthony Newsome and D'Anglo Newsome. Honorary pallbearers were Caree Johnson, Stepel Johnson, Leroy King and Reginald Maddox.
