Vera Fuller

Services for Vera Fuller, of Jacksonville, are pending with Mercy/McGowan Funeral Home of Jacksonville. Mrs. Fuller died Thursday, June 1, 2007, at Trinity Mother Frances-Tyler.

One of the bright, shining stars of Jacksonville faded from our lives Thursday, May 31, 2007.

Elizabeth Sadler, affectionately known as “Liz,” left behind a legacy of warm friendships, loving family and fond memories.

She used her strong work ethic in the family-owned business (Sadler’s Restaurant), that she co-owned with her husband “Monk” for 36 years.

Witty, independent, talented and just fun to be around, she will be greatly missed by everyone who knew her. The word “impossible” was not in her vocabulary, which was passed down to her children and grandchildren.

Liz was an avid golfer, played duplicate bridge and enjoyed many years singing in the Chancel Choir at First United Methodist Church, where she was a member.
Pallbearers will be Robert J. Gowin, Kenneth Loftin, Brian D. Gowin, Ryan Sadler, Toby Gowin, Kirk Sadler, Tony Harrison and Lindy Nichols.

Memorials may be made to Hospice of East Texas, 4111 University Blvd., Tyler Tx 75701 or the First United Methodist Church, 1031 SE. Loop 456, Jacksonville Tx 75766.

Liz was preceded in death by her husband, Elton F. “Monk” Sadler; her grandson, Keith Loftin; and her great-grandson, Michael Trotter.

Survivors include: Son and daughter-in-law; Robert and Sheila Sadler, daughters and sons-in-law; Jan and Doug Gowin, Gerry and Connie Stovall and Susan Sadler May, 7 grandchildren and 9 Great-grandchildren, and special caregivers; Shirley Davis, Ruby Hinton, Imogene Adams & Brenda Starling.

Funeral services are scheduled for 2 p.m. Sunday, June 3, 2007, at First United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Dr. Faulk Landrum, the Rev. Dr. Tony Cleaver and the Rev. Kevin King officiating. Burial will be at Jacksonville City Cemetery under the direction of Autry Funeral Home.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, June 2, from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
