Funeral mass for Bernard (Bernie) Ferrara, 74, of Jacksonville was at 10
a.m. Monday at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church with Father Mark
Kusmirek officiating. Burial was be in Mt. Hope Cemetery in Rusk.
Mr. Ferrara died Aug. 23. He was born Dec. 21, 1933, in New York City. Mr. Ferrara had lived in Jacksonville for four years and previously lived at Emerald Bay.
He was a member of Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church in Jacksonville. He was a catcher in Cincinnati Reds organization for several years and retired from Roadway Express after many years.
He was preceded in death by his parents, George Walter Ferrara and Mary Gallo Ferrara.
Survivors include wife of 47 years Margaret Ferrara of Jacksonville; a sister Roseanne Ferrara of Bronxville, N.Y.; and several nieces and nephews.
Services were under the direction of Autry Funeral Home, Jacksonville.

Visitation will begin Sunday, Aug. 24 at Autry Funeral Home, Jacksonville with a Rosary service to be held at 7 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home chapel.
