SELENA EARLE

 

Funeral for Selena Earle, 70, of Jacksonville, was at 10 a.m. Tuesday, in the Earle's Chapel United Methodist Church with the Rev. Dale Jamerson officiating. Burial was in Earle's Chapel Cemetery.

Mrs. Earle died Dec. 24 in her sleep during a family outing in Mississippi. She was born Dec. 17, 1938, in Grapeland.

She was employed at Joe Wright Elementary as a teacher of second and third grades for 28 years and was a member and past president of Delta Kappa Gamma, member and past area president of the TSTA. She had more than 16 years membership and was past treasurer and president of the Jacks and Jill's and was past president of the Retired Teachers Association of Cherokee County.

She was preceded in death by her father, George Whitaker and mother, Allean Shaver Whitaker. Survivors are her husband of 38 years, Neil Earle of Jacksonville; son and daughter in-law, Wade Earle and Joan Milke of Pendleton, Ore.; two daughters and a son-in law, Terry and Turner Propes of Henderson and Andrea Earle of Dalton, Ga., two sisters and brothers-in-law, Beth Johnston and Lynn Howard of Lake Palestine and Christine and Donald Noske of Huffman; grandsons T.C. Propes III and wife Kim, Tommy Propes and granddaughter Abigail Earle. Nephews and great-nephews were pallbearers. Autry Funeral Home was in charge.
