JUNE ELIZABETH LIESE CERVENKA
A memorial service for June Elizabeth Liese Cervenka, 84 of Rusk,
will be at 6 p.m. Thursday at the Rusk First United Methodist
Church with the Rev. Gloria Jennings officiating. The funeral was
held at 2 p.m. July 26, at Waco Memorial Park Cemetery Mausoleum
Chapel with the Rev. Mike Munn officiating. Burial was in Waco
Memorial Park Cemetery Mrs. Cervenka died July 22. She was born
Feb. 22, 1924 in Trenton, N.J. to the late Bill and Lillian
Fairbanks Lien. She was a resident of Rusk 30 years and formerly
lived in Corpus Christi and Waco. She was a member of Reklaw
United Methodist Church. Mrs. Cervenka was president of the
Parents Teachers Association of Mary Carroll High School in Corpus
Christi for several years. She was organizer of many events and
honorary Admiral of the Texas Navy. She was employed at Douglas
Aircraft and the Red Cross in Washington D.C. during World War II.
She was also in charge of the prisoner of war list during World
War II. Preceding her in death was one son, William Rudolph
Cervenka. Survivors are her husband of 63 years, Rudolph J. (Rudy)
Cervenka of Rusk; one son and daughter-in-law, Robert and Grace
Cervenka of San Antonio; five grandchildren, Kimberly and
Christopher Cervenka of San Antonio, 3 grandchildren from Corpus
Christi; two brothers-in-law and sisters in-law; numerous nieces
and nephews. Memorials may be made to The American Cancer Society,
