HENRY ATTAWAY

Funeral for Henry M. Attaway, 81, of Rusk, was at 2 p.m. Friday at Shady Grove Church of Christ with Darryl Bowdrie officiating. Burial was in Woodville Cemetery under direction of Mercy/McGowan Funeral Home, Jacksonville.

Mr. Attaway died April 30, 2007. He was born May 30, 1925, in Rusk and was a lifelong resident of Cherokee County. He retired from Texas State Highway Department and was a member of Shady Grove Church of Christ. He was preceded in death by one son and one brother.

Survivors include his wife, Sammie Mae Attaway of Rusk; two sons, Craig Attaway of Henderson, and Gerald Attaway of Rusk; three daughters, Louann Attaway of Tyler, Michelle Jackson of Rusk and Jackie Craig of Mexia; two sisters, Fannie Freeney and Velma Miller, both of Dallas; and 13 grandchildren. Pallbearers were Craig Attaway, Corey Attaway, Gregory Attaway, Byron Bennett, Phal Carter and Fletcher Sessions . Honorary pallbearers were friends.
