     BALL CEMETERY AT MAYDELLE       

The Legal description of the land is:  A 905 BLK 1744 TR 1 & 5 & 6 & 1A-5A-6A J WILLIAMS F12 located at 1009 CR 2107, Rusk, TX 75785, Cherokee CAD property ID 119631000.  The property consists of about 226 acres of land heavily timbered in mostly pine trees.  The property is has a 10 foot high fence with a locked gate to contain exotic game. The cemetery about 1/4 mile inside the gate off a dirt road and is about 50 feet by 50 feet in size.

Helen Wooddell Crawford’s book CEMETERIES OF MID CHEROKEE COUNTY TEXAS, ISBN 978-1-931167-35-2, page 35, states that she and her husband along with Lionel Newman visited the cemetery on February 20, 1971.  They listed 18 graves on the site.  Most of the markers are made of native iron sandstone.

The name Dunnicd is a Indian name; and spelled correctly.

J.T. & Liddie Ann Newman are the parents of Tid Newman with Mrs.Liddie Ann Newman being the last person buried in this cemetery.
