Meeting of Ex-Slaves Called.
Jacksonville, Tex., Aug. 29 -- An old colored man,
known as Uncle Jack Anderson, has called a
meeting of the ex-slaves of Cherokee to meet in
Jacksonville Sept. 2. The object of the meeting is
to encourage a friendly feeling between the races.
An effort is being made to secure several colored
orators for the occasion, and a great time is
expected by the negroes.
